How do I register for Ireland State Savings Online?

I already own Ireland State Savings Products and have a State Savings Customer Number:

If you own Ireland State Savings products (Fixed Term products or Prize Bonds), are aged 18 or over and have a State Savings Customer Number (SSCN), select the ‘Register’ button at StateSavings.ie.

You will be required to provide the following information:

  • Your name

  • Your date of birth

  • Your State Savings Customer Number (SSCN) or Personal Public Service Number (PPSN)

  • Your email address

  • Your mobile number

  • Your Passport or EU/UK Driving Licence (valid and in date)

  • A selfie for Identity Verification

Once your online registration is processed, an email will be sent to the email address provided on your registration. This email will confirm that you can access Ireland State Savings Online using the password created as part of your registration.

I am a new Ireland State Savings customer

If you provided your email address and mobile phone number on the New Customer application form you may receive:

  1. A Welcome Letter to your registered address containing a Personal Identification Number (PIN).

  2. You may use this Personal Identification Number (PIN) together with your email address and mobile phone number (provided on the New Customer application form) to register for Ireland State Savings Online.

Follow the steps on your Welcome letter to register for Ireland State Savings Online and sign in for the first time.

I purchased Ireland State Savings Products before 5th October 2014:

If you already have Ireland State Savings products (Fixed Term Products or Prize Bonds), and are aged 18 or over, you will need to apply for a State Savings Customer Number (SSCN).

If you have not yet been allocated an SSCN, please complete the New Customer Application Form. This form can be downloaded here or collected from your local Post Office.

Please note that in addition to the form we are required to collect certain documents to verify your identity:

  • Proof of Name: Current Passport or current EU Driving Licence
  • Proof of Address: Issued within the last six months; Utility Bill, Bank Statement or Letter from Revenue Commissioners
  • Proof of PPSN: Public Service Card, Letter from Revenue Commissioners or DEASP

We may also require you to provide certain other information to us (including your nationality, employment status and estimated monthly net income) for the purpose of compliance with statutory obligations relating to the prevention of money laundering and terrorists financing.

The completed form and supporting documentation can be submitted at your local Post Office or send it by post to Ireland State Savings, GPO, FREEPOST, Dublin 1, D01 F5P2

Please note, your application can only be processed if you have provided all required documentation.

Once your application is fully processed, you will be allocated your SSCN, which will allow you to make purchases at the Post Office or online.
