Accessibility

We are committed to accessibility and recognise the importance of ensuring that our website is accessible to as many of our customers as possible.

The website is designed to be simple, engaging and a rewarding experience for our customers.

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) 2025, effective from June 28, 2025, establishes new requirements for accessible products and services within Ireland and the European Union. We are committed to enhancing the accessibility of our website for all users.

This website has been designed to achieve “Double-A” accessibility as set out by the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 in compliance with the National Disability Authority’s Code of Practice on accessibility of public services and information provided by public bodies.

A number of elements utilise modern coding languages such as JavaScript that need to be enabled to deliver an optimal user experience.

Ongoing Accessibility Monitoring

Our development methodology integrates accessibility considerations from the outset, supported by ongoing evaluation and refinement of our website's accessibility features. This continuous programme underscores our commitment to providing an inclusive online experience and ensuring compliance with applicable accessibility standards.

How we're making this website more accessible:

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. Guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), here are some of the features we've added - or are working on - to make our website easier for everyone to use:

  • Pages are easy to read on all common web browsers.
  • Clear, intuitive, accessible navigation allows users to find information quickly and easily.
  • The website is responsive to different devices and will display the website in a format best suited to the device you are using.
  • Addition of alternative text to images to ensure that customers using screen readers can understand the image content.
  • Where possible, the website text can be zoomed up to 200% - in some cases as much as 400% - to assist readability without assistive technology.
  • Accessibility colour contrast on interactive elements and text to provide sufficient contrast between text (or other foreground elements) and the background. We continue to enhance this to improve readability.
  • Where possible, the website is structured in a way that screen readers can interpret it correctly.
  • The tab key order follows the most logical visual order of page elements making it possible to navigate through the interactive page elements with the tab key.

Browser Support

The website has been built to display correctly on all common web browsers and devices. It uses standards compliant code, meaning any future browsers should also display the website correctly. However, we have designed our website for optimal viewing on the last two versions of the browsers that the vast majority of our visitors use.

Supported browsers based on the above guideline:

Standard View:
Chrome, current version
Firefox, current version
Safari, current version
Edge, current version

Mobile View:
Chrome for Android, last 2 versions
Mobile Safari (iPhone browser), last 2 versions
